Your idea is outstanding; the difficulty is one thing that not sufficient individuals are speaking intelligently about. I’m very blissful that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for one thing relating to this.

A nice little booklet for people starting out and it’s so important to have the right information. One thing I would recommend when preparing cashflow projections is to be pessimistic rather than optimistic. You don’t know whether you are going to have 10 people or 100 people walk through your door so the cashflows can always be adjusted upwards when your business is operating.

Thanks Tracey, that is a great tip. I agree that business plans and cash flow projections should be a living document that you update regularly based on how things change in the business.

  • How is the business climate in Ireland compared with other European countries?

    • beatricewhelan

That is a tough question as there is a lot of variety across Europe so it really depends on what European country you compare Ireland to. Although things are by no means easy in Ireland, there does seem to have been a lift in the business climate in the last few months. Sage has recently carried out a business index survey and we are due to publish the results in the next few weeks. I think that will help answer your question so watch this space!
